(2) Body of the group discussion

After a good start it is time to speak up and giving chance to other participant and makes them to interact as much possible. Because you should remember that in Group discussion, individual alone cannot be judged the jury member checking the whole group activity and all members’ participation.

(3)Summarization/ Conclusion

It is the last point and main point in any GD the two point i.e. initiation and termination are very important and give good impressions over the jury members.

It should be done by the member who have not spoke or not get any chance in the whole discussion. In the conclusion you should briefly describe what you have discussed now not what you about it.

Summarization Techniques

Most GDs do not really have conclusions. A conclusion is where the whole group decides in favor or against the topic.

But every GD is summarized. You can summaries what the group has discussed in the GD in a nutshell.

Keep the following points in mind while summarizing a discussion:

ü  Avoid raising new points.

ü  Avoid stating only your viewpoint.

ü  Avoid dwelling only on one aspect of the GD.

ü  Keep it brief and concise.

ü  It must incorporate all the important points that came out during the GD.

ü  If the examiner asks you to summaries a GD, it means the GD has come to an end,

ü  Do not add anything once the GD has been summarized.
